Links aren't arriving

Check that the app is open on the device and shows the machine as connected.

Check that the Engine is running on the machine (brew services list, or your own LaunchAgent / systemd unit).

Nothing is lost meanwhile: the Engine keeps links for 24 hours and delivers them when a device connects, and handback open prints the link in the terminal on the machine so you can open it there.

A sign-in didn't complete

Port busy: another sign-in on this device is already using the same callback port. Finish or delete that one, then try again.

Expired: the Engine waits 10 minutes for a sign-in's callback. After that, or after the machine disconnects, the window is closed.

My iPhone misses links

iPhone and iPad receive only while Handback is on screen; iOS suspends it in the background. Links sent meanwhile wait on the machine for 24 hours and arrive when you open the app.

How do I re-pair a device?

In the app, delete the machine (machine settings → Delete Machine). On the machine, print the pairing QR again, then scan it or paste the URI in the app (+ → Add Machine).

How do I remove the Engine from a Mac?

Stop the Engine, remove the helper app, then pick your browser again in System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Default web browser. Also remove the export BROWSER=… line from your shell profile if you added it.
